The recent appointments in the Government of the Kursk Region made by the Interim Acting Governor raise numerous questions and suspicions. Why is Roman Starovoit surrounding himself with persons with ‘murky’ past? Why a number of key positions have been entrusted to people having ‘dark spots’ in their biographies?. Aleksander Mikhailov, the predecessor of Starovoit, had never appointed persons having criminal records or ties with criminal groups to governmental posts. But, apparently, his successor does not really care about this.

Seizure of documents took place in Sochi administration 09/04/2019
The Investigative Committee stated they have nothing to do with the activities conducted.
Law enforcement officers came to the administration of Sochi and carried out a seizure of documents, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the city administration.
“[There was] a seizure. We do not know what they were looking for, they were going on the third floor,” the Mayor’s office said.

Kalmykia: judge of arbitration court gets prosecuted for swindling on procurements 09/04/2019
The investigation theory is that she had appropriated 2 million rubles ($30 thousand), having driven up the price of an apartment she had bought for the court’s purposes.
Judge of arbitration court in the Republic of Kalmykia Elena Anzhukaeva became a defendant in a criminal case into swindling. With that, the criminal case was initiated by head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Aleksander Bastrykin personally.

Former presidential envoy Ishayev left under house arrest 09/04/2019
The defendant, 71, reimbursed the damage, but did not plead guilty.
The Moscow City Court ruled to leave the former president’s plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory and the vice-president of Rosneft, Viktor Ishaev, 71, under house arrest, despite the compensation of damage. Earlier, Ishayev’s daughter, Yulia, transferred more than 5 million rubles ($ 88,000) to Rosneft’s account.
