The Investigative Committee stated they have nothing to do with the activities conducted.

Law enforcement officers came to the administration of Sochi and carried out a seizure of documents, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the city administration.

“[There was] a seizure. We do not know what they were looking for, they were going on the third floor,” the Mayor’s office said.

In turn, the press service of the regional Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that they are not related to these events.

Earlier it was reported that personnel reshuffles occurred in the power structures of Sochi. The media associated them with the arrests of officials suspected of involvement in crimes. In the spring of 2018, the first Vice-Mayor of Sochi, Mugdin Chermit, was arrested; he was charged with exceeding official powers, as a result of which damage of 400 million rubles ($6.1 m) was caused to equity holders.

Then, the first Vice-Mayor of Sochi, Sergey Yurin, and his predecessor in this position, Anatoly Rykov, were arrested on suspicion of corruption.
