Former presidential envoy Ishayev left under house arrest
The defendant, 71, reimbursed the damage, but did not plead guilty.
The Moscow City Court ruled to leave the former president’s plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory and the vice-president of Rosneft, Viktor Ishaev, 71, under house arrest, despite the compensation of damage. Earlier, Ishayev’s daughter, Yulia, transferred more than 5 million rubles ($ 88,000) to Rosneft’s account.
According to the investigation, Ishayev provided the conclusion of a contract for the Khabarovsk representative office of Rosneft and the controlled Base LLC for the lease of office space at an inflated price. The accused pleaded innocent. The defense team offered a bail of 15 million rubles ($ 230,000), or at least to allow the pensioner three-hour daytime walks.
