Tyumen: Institute of Culture’s rector detained after searches

Apart from Igor Shishkin, Head of the Economic Planning Department Olga Bulashova has also been detained.

The Tyumen State Institute of Culture has been searched. During the searches, the Institute’s rector Igor Shishkin and Head of the Economic Planning Department Olga Bulashova were detained, Znak.com reports referring to a source in the institution.

“There were some people, those people were working. Certain investigative actions are currently being held,” the source said. The source has not provided any details or charges and suspicions in relation to the people detained.

Neither the Institute, nor the Department of Education and Science of the Tyumen region have commented on this information. According to the press service of the MIA regional office, the body is not related to searches and cannot confirm or deny this information.

Early on, former rector of the Tyumen Industrial University, Oleg Novoselov, was detained and convicted. He had become a defendant in three criminal cases and got a suspended sentence. Vice Rector of the Tyumen Industrial University, Aleksandr Oshibkov, was sentenced to siz years’ ordinary imprisonment for Abuse of Official Powers and Swindling.
