North Ossetia Pension Fund employees suspected of $3.25mn embezzlement

62 criminal cases have been initiated.

Multi-million embezzlements have been committed in two offices of the Pension Fund in the  North Ossetia. According to preliminary data, the amount of damage is 215 million rubles ($3.25 million). This is reported by TASS referring to the Republic’s Minister of Internal Affairs Mikhail Skokov.

According to him, three officers of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation have been exposed for organizing a criminal group. In total, there are seven defendants in the case.

“Embezzlement of pension payments amounting to more than 7 million rubles ($105,921) have been revealed in the Pension Fund office in the Iraf district. 62 criminal cases have been initiated,” Skokov noted.

He added that employees of the Pension Fund of the Alagir District of North Ossetia would illegally appoint pension payments, thus embezzling more than 208 million rubles ($3.14 million).
