Investigative measures are being conducted in a case of land fraud. Earlier the Head of Murino village Valeriy Garkavy was detained in the case.

FSB officers are searching the apartment of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad region Sergey Karavayev in a case of land fraud, in the framework of which the Head of Murino Valery Garkavy was previously detained, reports 47news. According to the newspaper, Karavayev and his father were taken to the regional Investigative Committee.

Presumably, the investigative actions are associated with a deal on a 35-hectare plot in Murino, made in 2017. The land was sold to AS LLC, whose owner is Karavayev Sr., for 15% of the cadastral value — less than 9.5 million rubles ($144.3 thousand). Only owners of capital buildings located on the privatized plot can receive such a discount, but in reality there are only open asphalt areas for containers and rubble on it. At the same time, local officials signed a permit to commission five non-residential buildings with a total area of almost 86 thousand square meters. At that moment, Sergey Karavayev held the post of deputy in Murino.

The Leningrad region Committee for State Construction Supervision drew attention to the deal with the mentioned plot. Officials appealed to the court, demanding to recognize the lack of ownership. After that, the district prosecutor's office became interested in the case, and then the inspection materials were sent to investigators.
