Businessman Mikhalchenko left under arrest until June 21

The defendant is accused of embezzlement during the construction of the Russian President's residence in Novo-Ogarevo.
The arrest of businessman Dmitry Mikhalchenko convicted of smuggling elite alcohol and arrested in the case of embezzlement during the construction of the Russian Federation President's residence in Novo-Ogarevo is extended until June 21 by the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Business FM reported. The district court rendered a similar decision in mid-March, but the Moscow City Court sent the case for review in a new composition.
Mikhalchenko has been placed in the SIZO in March 2016 and will be serving a term on the first case over smuggling on April 19. In August 2018, the ICR charged him with organizing a criminal community that stole about 1.3 billion rubles during the construction of the President’s residence. The entrepreneur faces up to 20 years in prison.
