St. Petersburg pensioner suspected in purchase of firearms pens

Security officials found ammunition, a revolver and three signal pistols in the apartment of the suspect.

In St. Petersburg, operatives detained a 75-year-old man with a parcel, in which they found four guns and fifty cartridges to them. Also, the detainee got 25 ammunition for rifled firearms, and three signal pistols with signs of rework, a revolver, and dozens of different-caliber cartridges in the pensioner's apartment, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region reports.

A criminal case on the illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and ammunition was initiated against the pensioner (part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). After giving the explanations, the suspect was released on recognizance not to leave. All seized staff sent for examination.
