Proletarsk mayor transferred money to company under his control for unperformed works

According to investigators, Sergey Ponomar made the transfer of a large amount of money to the municipal unitary enterprise Chisty Gorod (Clean City) under his control for unfulfilled work possible.

The Mayor of Proletarsk, Rostov region, Sergey Ponomar, became a defendant in a criminal case under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, reports Don24 news agency, citing informed sources. Ponomar is suspected of Exceeding Official Powers (Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and Official Forgery (Art. 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The investigation is conducted by the Salsk Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee. According to the investigators, the Mayor illegally transferred 1 million rubles ($15.5 thousand) from the city budget to the account of the municipal unitary enterprise Chisty Gorod controlled by him. Formally, the money transfer went as payment for works under a municipal contract, but in fact no works have been completed.

1Rnd.ru informs with reference to the representative of the Investigative Directorate of the ICR for the Rostov region, the criminal case was opened in February, but it became known only now.
