The head of the institution imitated innovation for a wage increase.

The Leninsky District Court of Stavropol will consider the criminal case against the director of Hero of the Soviet Union V.A. Petrov College of Communications, who is accused of embezzling budgetary money in the amount of 2,605 million rubles ($39,221). The college head organized the payment of wage supplements to his subordinates and himself, adding a reward for work with persons with disabilities in the financial plan of the institution for 2016, the Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol region reports.

Allegedly, an innovative platform operated on the basis of the College of Communications, where tests and experiments were conducted in the field of education with the participation of people with disabilities. According to the investigation, no innovative work was actually carried out, and college employees received extra payments unfairly.

The college director has been charged with Abuse of Official Powers (part 1 of Art. 285 of the Russian Criminal Code).
