Alexander Esipov agreed to help an entrepreneur that faced a criminal case.

The Traktorozavodsky District Court of Chelyabinsk found Alexander Esipov, a former employee of the Investigation Department of the ICR for Kurchatovsky district, guilty of receiving a bribe and sentenced him to 7.5 years in a strict regime colony. It is reported by the senior assistant prosecutor of the Chelyabinsk region Natalya Mamaeva.

She added that the court also ordered Esipov to pay a fine in the amount of 1 million 871 thousand 762.72 rubles ($ 28.4 thousand), which is two times more than the bribe taken. He is also deprived of the major rank and the right to hold positions in the public service in law enforcement bodies for a period of three years.

According to the case file, from December 2017 to February 2018, through lawyer Oleg Zaytsev, Esipov received $ 16,700 for aiding an entrepreneur. The investigator promised the woman to return the documents and money seized during a search and reject criminal proceedings against her.

Having received all the money, Esipov fulfilled his promise. All actions, including the transfer of money to Zaytsev, took place under the control of FSB officers, to whom the entrepreneur herself turned at the very beginning, reporting extortion.

The lawyer Oleg Zaytsev received a fine of 1.5 million rubles ($ 22.8 thousand) for mediating the transfer of the bribe.

In turn, Znak.com adds that Alexander Esipov has practically no property. Prior to his arrest, he lived in a small two-room flat, does not have a car, his wife drives an old used foreign car. In addition, Esipov has several loans, and he takes care of his elderly sick mother. The money transferred as a bribe was never found at the investigator's. He himself said that he had burned them as soon as he learned about the detention of Oleg Zaytsev.
