The investigation theory is that the investigator fabricated a transcript of evidence given by one of the suspects related to theft by an organized group the way it looked as though the crime had been committed by him alone.

Investigator of the Department of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Saratov region’s Krasnokutsky district has been suspected of falsification of evidence in a criminal case (item 2 of article 303 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports the media office of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The directorate states the investigator fabricated a transcript of evidence given by one of the suspects related to theft by an organized group with unlawful entry. During the investigative activities, it was determined the theft had been committed by four young people. In order to simplify the preliminary investigation, the investigator fabricated a transcript of evidence allegedly given by one of the suspects. The transcript implied the young man had committed the crime on his own.

The investigator gave the transcript for signature to the 19-year-old suspect and attached it to the papers of the case. Having left the police division, the young man realized the actions by the investigator had been unlawful and reported to law enforcement.

Representatives of the Federal Security Service Directorate in Saratov region and operations and search division of the internal affairs of MIA’s regional Chief Directorate thwarted the investigator. The details of the incident are being determined.
